Llafranc, a charming fishing village
Llafranc is a picturesque fishing village located in the heart of the Costa Brava. As you get closer to the urban center you will see that it is located on a rocky coast. It belongs to the municipality of Palafrugell and together with Calella and Tamariu are the three nuclei of this municipality that face the coast.
Today, Llafranc still retains the charm of a fishing village from before tourism arrived in the area. Here you will find the typical small coves, fishermen's houses, large cliffs and pine trees right down to the sea line. Given such beauty, it is not surprising that for more than 50 years artists, actors, writers and prominent figures have chosen it as a destination where they can find inspiration, calm and tranquility.
Undoubtedly, Llafranc is the perfect place for your family holidays and for relaxation, with the added value of having all the services within reach.
Discover its most beautiful places
There is so much to see in Llafranc and its surroundings... From the beach you can walk to one of the different routes of the Camino de Ronda, passing through the different coves of Calella de Palafrugell, until you reach Golfet beach.
Also highly recommended is the boat trip to the coves of Llafranc and Tamariu (including a visit to some of its mysterious caves). Also from this area you can take a walk to the top of one of two cliffs and reach the Far de Sant Sebastià.
Located 169 meters above the cliff, it is the highest and most powerful on the Catalan coast, with a history of more than 150 years. It is a magnificent viewpoint to the beaches of Llafranc, Tamariu and Calella de Palafrugell. From here, you can see to the north of Cape Sant Sebastià, - between Tamariu and Llafranc - a small cove known as “del Gens or del Cau”.
Very close to Cap de Sant Sebastià there are three submerged mountains called “Els Ullastres”. Luckily this point has been preserved from the degradation that little by little has been eliminating these enclaves of singular beauty from our coasts. It is considered one of the best dive sites on the entire Mediterranean coast.
